Rules & undertaking

Read the rules for incubatees, then accept all four declarations to submit.

Rules & regulations for incubatees
  1. The incubatee will be permitted to register only if the idea proposed is innovative, relevant and/or commercially viable. Novelty in the form of utilisation of un-utilised or underutilised raw materials, green technology, value additions with scope for establishing in market, energy saving models, process variations, uniqueness in product or its use pattern, innovative strategies in implementation, low cost solutions, alternative & socially sensible services, or industry specific problem solving will normally be accepted for registration.
  2. In lieu of support and services provided to the incubatee companies, EDII-ABIRF may collect an annual / monthly membership fee, or assess to take equity from the incubatee as per the Incubation Policy of EDII-ABIRF.
  3. Potential incubatees — those not yet decided on a start-up, or not comfortable opting for full-fledged registration but still strong on the idea — are provided limited support as pre-incubation services.
  4. For lab use and office space use, rentals are to be paid by incubatees and potential incubatees as per the established guidelines, remittable quarterly. Concessions may be issued to the most promising works based on merit and the specialty of the idea.
  5. Incubatees get preference on EDII-ABIRF initiatives through: strength of the innovation idea, rate of progress shown, innovativeness in implementation and output, right conduct and focused activity, domain specificity, progress as evaluated by officials, social commitment and genuine perseverance.
  6. A reference letter from EDII-ABIRF requires a written request with details. Based on merit and expert opinion, the letter is drafted. Recommendation for secondary or seed funding is initiated for specific ideas under available government schemes, with selection through the screening committee.
  7. For un-announced schemes, the letter is issued only as an introduction of the incubatee with matter-of-fact information. Recommendation and/or shouldering of financial responsibility in any form is not within the scope of the incubation centre.
  8. Incubation support is extended in the EDII-ABIRF facility normally during office hours on working days. Extended activity by the incubatee is entertained only on merit and upon permission from higher authorities as per prevailing campus rules.
  9. Incubation facilities extended shall be used only for the intended purpose. The EDII-ABIRF brand may be used by incubatees after intimating the same in written form.
  10. Exit policy is based on: tenant period (six months to 3 years), extended marketing of products, IPR and marketing by tenant, sustenance in business, meeting the incubation milestones, and repeated failure to do so.
